Howdy Tigers,

We hope you’re all having a great summer and enjoying life across the Metroplex. It’s crazy to think we will all be gathering together to watch our Tigers kickoff their second SEC Football Season in just a few weeks! Last year was a great year for our DFW Mizzou Alumni Chapter and we have many great events in store for all our DFW Tigers. Before we get the ball rolling on our Fall events we wanted to give you a recap of everything from last year.

The DFW Mizzou Alumni Chapter finished the year strong by continuing to serve our community and bring Mizzou alumni together. Our alumni events, social media activities, and outreach have increased engagement to its highest levels in our chapter’s history. With all the great support from Tigers like you, we have once again been recognized as a Capstone chapter, the highest level of recognition from the Mizzou Alumni Association Columns Program (in case your were keeping tracking it’s the seventh year in a row). This award provides a $4,000 Mizzou Alumni Association-funded scholarship to a high school senior in the DFW area in addition to our Jim “Tiger” Ellis and Van Ellis Memorial Endowment Scholarship and the DFW MAA Alumni Chapter Local Scholarship.

Some of the Chapter’s activities in the past year included:

  • Homecoming service event at Children’s House at Baylor
  • Freshman Send Off
  • Children’s Hospital service event
  • Basketball and football watch parties
  • Annual Children’s Hospital Toy Drive
  • Coaches Caravan
  • Founders’ Day Celebration
  • Sponsored and participated in St. Patrick’s Day Parade SEC float

This is just a small list of all our chapter has done over the past year and we look forward to continuing our growth in the DFW area and helping to make Mizzou even stronger. We would also like to thank our Alumni Chapter President Mark Bauer who is retiring from the board, for all his hard work and dedication. We will miss you on the alumni board and look forward to seeing you at the watch parties and other events!
