Congratulations to our chapter president, Bill Richmond, on his G.O.L.D. award from the Mizzou Alumni Association.  The Mizzou G.O.L.D. (Graduates of the Last Decade) award is is for graduates of the last ten years who have donated laudable time and talents on behalf of Mizzou. Bill was the winner of the 2014 Regional Mizzou G.O.L.D. award for chapter members outside of the state of Missouri.

A little more on Bill from Mizzou.com:

Bill Richmond, BA ’06
Dallas, Texas

Over the last four years, Bill Richmond has been a near-constant presence at the Dallas-Fort Worth Alumni Chapter’s (DFW) events. In addition to serving as the chapter’s current president, Bill was watch party director from 2011 to 2013 and has organized and attended over 40 basketball and football watch parties since 2010.

Known for his natural leadership abilities and charismatic personality, Bill can often be found introducing himself to new alumni, networking at events and bonding with fellow Tigers. In his time as president, he has already increased the chapter’s number of watch party locations and overall attendance at events. DFW’s presence on social media has also expanded rapidly to include almost 500 Facebook group members and over 520 Twitter followers.

Bill’s heart for volunteerism is made apparent by participation in numerous volunteer events including holiday toy drives, freshmen send-off events and the 2012 Our Children’s House Baylor Hospital event. His attendance at the DFW MAA Summer Social and assistance with other events such as the Cotton Bowl Block Party and DFW Founders Day Celebration was integral to their success.

Despite the challenges of building a strong alumni network outside of the state, Bill has risen to the task and gone above and beyond to spread Tiger pride in his region. This is why he is the winner of the 2014 Regional Mizzou G.O.L.D. Award.
