The Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association, along with the family of Paul Robert Miltenberger, are proud to announce the continuation of our annual golf tournament. The tournament raises funds for our Chapter’s Endowment which provides scholarships to DFW high school students enrolling at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO.
This year’s tournament, a four-person scramble at Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club in Keller, Texas on Friday, June 17th, will be in honor of a local Missouri Tiger who we lost too soon, Paul Robert Miltenberger. Paul Miltenberger grew up in Southlake, Texas, but always longed to be a Missouri Tiger.
Paul came from a long tradition of Missouri Tigers. His grandfather, Dr. Paul Miltenberger, attended the University of Missouri for his undergraduate degree and medical school, and his father, aunts, uncles, and cousins were also Mizzou alums. As a result, Paul attended many historic Mizzou events. From the victory over the hated Jayhawks at Arrowhead Stadium to San Antonio for the Big 12 Championship game and to the two Cotton Bowls in his hometown, Paul was always there to support his Tigers.
After graduating from Southlake Carroll High School in May 2013, Paul headed north to Columbia, Missouri. He quickly became involved at the university when he joined the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. After settling in, Paul knew he had made the right choice in his college career and called his mother to tell her, “Thank you for letting me come to Mizzou. This is where I am supposed to be.”
Tragically, Paul’s life on earth ended far too soon as he was killed in an accident while visiting his family on Easter in 2015.
Our 2022 golf tournament will be an opportunity to celebrate Paul and the impact he had on those that knew him while raising money for young people like Paul who love the University of Missouri and bring joy to others in their lives.
With a noon lunch and 1:00 pm shotgun start, we anticipate over 120 golfers from across the Metroplex will attend to support this great cause. A dinner, awards ceremony, and fundraising auctions will follow the tournament.
If you can’t join us for the Golf Tournament but want to spend the evening with other Mizzou alumni and bid on some amazing silent auction items? No worries, for $25 you can! Your fee includes dinner and a ticket to the awards and silent auction.
Check out the fun from previous tournaments!
PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT WILL SUPPORT THE DALLAS-FORT WORTH CHAPTER’S SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT, WHICH PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL DALLAS-FORT WORTH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO WILL ATTEND THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI
